children have it all right, thats for sure.
once upon a time, there where 2 children who loved animals very much.
the children and the animals used to spend all day playing.
they lived in a garden filled with flowers, the birds always came to drink water in the little stream.
it was a beautiful garden, the children and the animals and the birds where all very happy…
my family on our farm, i think i was about 6….
i love all my family photos so much, i think memories so are important in our lives.

i have started making my own bags for my clothes to go in when I sell them.
i am using old books that we find at paper recycling, or second hand shops.
then i stitch them up with my sewing machine. its fun and interesting.
some more paper fun is this streamer i made for marc, now its up in our new house, which is so beautiful and we have lived in it for a month already and time just flies so now finally i can put some lovely ‘new house’ pictures here:

i remember the ’sound of silence’ ever since i was a little girl. everything is utterly quiet – there is a soft, fuzzy buzz and, just for a split second, you can feel the world spinning.
we just moved house and we have been busy unpacking.
now we just need to settle in.
its been fun and lovely.

we went to luca’s forest party it was so much fun.
face painting and secret games down by the river were the order of the day, and of course, yummy things to eat!
i love these little boat cakes they are so perfect for a little boy’s birthday party.
on our way to boulders beach, we saw:

sea, sky, fishing boats and lots of seagulls.
a while ago my friend, Julia, gave me a bag of old clothes to use for scraps.
this is the message that came with it, it’s so sweet:
Yay! Got some stuff for you, will hand it over when i see you or marc. So cool to think of some little ethan type guy running around in my gap jeans that i wore everywhere for 2 years.

I made this for a friend, its a waist warmer, i was so happy with the way it came out! it also reminded me how nice it is to crochet!

when i saw an illustration of Maria Mola’s in my best 7 year old girl’s spider magazine, i was so happy, its just beautiful.
so i looked her up and found some more. …….
leo isn’t really a new boy. ethan and him have been friends since they were tiny.
he looks very super rad in scraps though.
its so great to see these re-created clothes work on the children
who have inspired me daily.

i took this picture of Ethan and Leo, we were on our way back from school with a picnic, yummy.

i found these pictures in a book i have had since i was a little girl, i just love the illustrations so much and the children are wearing such lovely clothes……i remember looking at the pictures for hours. its so nice to look back and see that i was already being inspired as a 4 year old.
i made this laptop bag for a friend of mine.
These laptop bags are made with 5 layers of fabric (soft on the inside to most hardy on the outside), use velcro or zip closures and come in any size…

This dog is completely a brand new second hand soft toy. even the stuffing is bits of cotton from sewing and tiny bits of cloth.
the denim is from jeans i had when i was 15.

my sister and i used to think that our teddy bears had parties at night while we were sleeping……. Ethan was very excited when he woke up, to discover that his bears had arranged themselves in a guard tower making sure he stayed safe all night.
i just finished these shorts, i love the fabric it reminds me of going to fabric shops with my mother as a little girl.

These are the first pictures we have taken of the Scraps Range! It was a windy Sunday evening for round abouts and see-saws.
The clothes that you see here are one-of-a-kind handmade items, using recycled clothes and off-cuts. No two pairs are the same, and each pair has its unique story to tell, and a new life to find.
Scraps uses the same patterns and styles for all clothing made, and can comes in X Small, Small, Medium and Large (The clothes will fit boys -and girls- ranging from 1-6 years of age).

marc, ethan, paul and i went to the roundabout which is actually really anything you want it to be if you 4. it was a lovely time of day sun almost going down. roundabouts are amazing things when the house gets just too much and fresh air is the answer to big smiles and happiness!
